Utilita Live From The Drive-In Concert Series Cancelled Due To Local Lockdown Fears

Wednesday, 15 July 2020 Written by Huw Baines

The Utilita Live From The Drive-In concert series has been cancelled.

The events, which were due to take place across multiple venues this summer, have been pulled by promoters Live Nation due to fears over potential localised lockdowns in response to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. "The latest developments regarding localised lockdowns mean it has become impossible for us to continue with the series with any confidence," a statement read.

With artists including Kaiser Chiefs, Tom Grennan, Dizzee Rascal, the Streets, Wiley, KT Tunstall and more set to appear, the series was set to allow attendees to watch shows from “private individual viewing zones next to their cars”. Ticket holders will be contacted and refunds issued within seven days. “We thank everyone for their support and eagerly await a time when we can watch live music together again," the statement added.

Kenny Wax, the producer of the musical Six, which was due to form part of the line up, told the Guardian: “We are so very disappointed to have received the news of the cancellation earlier today. The previous hour has been spent telling the 60 members of our company that the job they were about to embark on has disappeared."
