A.G. Cook has dropped a new single.
XXoplex is the latest track to be lifted from the London-based producer and founder of PC Music's new album, 'Apple', which is due out on September 18.
The experimental sound of what Cook describes as the "dark, industrial heart" of the LP takes shape with stabbing, glitchy synths over big, bassy atmospheric textures and choral vocals. He continued:
"An unknown entity that has dominated dancefloors since its birth many centuries ago. But as I’ve spent more time with the track over the years, I've started to enjoy its softer side, a silliness, a sense that anything could happen. As Newton’s law of EDM gravitation states, every track is bound to drop at some point."
It's jam-packed with energy and comes with a video directed by longtime PC Music collaborator Timothy Luke. Take a look below.
Alongside the track, Cook has also confirmed details of Appleville, a virtual online event taking place on September 12 with performances from Charli XCX, 100 Gecs, Clairo, Kero Kero Bonito, Dorian Electra, Hannah Diamond, Amnesia Scanner, Jimmy Edgar and more.
It's free, but tickets can be purchased via Bandcamp to unlock access to recordings and other bonus features. Proceeds support Mermaids and the Black Cultural Archives.
