Nine Inch Nails Cancel Remaining 2021 Shows Due To COVID-19

Friday, 20 August 2021 Written by Jon Stickler

Nine Inch Nails have cancelled their remaining 2021 shows due to concerns over rising COVID-19 cases.

The band, who put out 'Ghosts V: Together' and 'Ghosts VI: Locusts' in 2020, were due to play their first live dates in nearly three years in their hometown of Cleveland, Ohio, in September with Pixies as support.

They were also scheduled to make appearances at several US festivals, including Riot Fest, Louder Than Life, and Welcome to Rockville. Announcing the news with a post on social media, they said:

"It is with great regret that we are cancelling all NIN appearances for the remainder of this year. When originally planned, these shows were intended to be a cathartic and celebratory return to live music. However, with each passing day it's becoming more apparent we're not at that place yet. We are sorry for any inconvenience or disappointment and look forward to seeing you again when the time is right."

Ticket holders for the Cleveland gigs will be able to receive refunds through their point of purchase. No rescheduled dates have yet been confirmed.

Organisers of Louder Than Life confirmed via Twitter that a replacement headliner would be coming "very soon", while the team behind Welcome To Rockville shared a similar update.
