Fickle Friends Plot UK Tour In Support Of Second LP 'Are We Gonna Be Alright?', Share New Song

Fickle Friends have announced UK shows for early 2022.
The Brighton band will kick off the tour with a homecoming show at Chalk in Brighton on January 13, before stops in Birmingham, Newcastle, Glasgow, Manchester, Nottingham, Cambridge, Norwich, Leeds, and Bristol, culminating on January 27 with a London show at Electric Brixton. Tickets go on general sale at 9am on September 17.
The dates will accompany the release of their newly announced second LP, 'Are We Gonna Be Alright?', due out on January 14, following up their 2018 debut 'You Are Someone Else'.
As a preview, they've dropped the first single, Love You To Death, their first new music since their May 'Weird Years: Season 2' EP. Cast across a punchy, funk-inspired rhythm, the indie-pop track was penned by the band and Jack Shepherd, with Fickle Friends guitarist Jack Wilson producing. Vocalist Natti Shiner said:
"Love You To Death is just pure fun. It was so sick to explore this new Prince-esque side of Fickle Friends. The music is so simple, and it gave us a lot of space to go a little crazy with the guitar shredding and backing vocals. I think every family member and their neighbour sings on this! It's a song about loving someone so much you might actually kill them. I'm pretty amazed by just how much I can feel sometimes, like it’s quite overwhelming a lot of the time. That’s where this song comes from."
She added: "Making this album helped us weather the storm of the last year. It held us together in a time of uncertainty. It gave us purpose when we felt forgotten. When (actual) therapy failed, these songs served as a way to process grief, depression, everything we go through as the anxiously minded creative people we are. This record has been a massive moment of growth for us and I hope you can hear that in the nuances of each song. We are truly excited to share it with the world."
The group will play an intimate album teaser gig at the Sebright Arms in Hackney, London this Friday (September 10).
