Animal Collective have shared an epic new song called Defeat.
The 22-minute track incorporates woozy electronic effects, ethereal vocal harmonies and evolves through kaleidoscopic, ambient sounds to more atmospheric, haunting moments over its course. Produced by Russell Elevado, it features contributions from violinist Samara Lubelski, cellist Leila Bordreuil and saxophonist Ben Chapoteau-Katz.
The song leads a new limited edition 12" vinyl release due out on August 25, with a live edit of new song The Challenge on its b-side.
The four-piece released their latest studio LP, 'Time Skiffs', in 2022.
