Bodega have announced their third album.

Alongside news of 'Our Brand Could Be Yr Life', the New York art-punks have revealed they've signed a deal with Chrysalis Records, who'll release the record on April 12.

The LP's title was also the name of their self-released 33-track album that they put out in 2015 under the name Bodega Bay. The five-piece have re-recorded some of those songs, as well as adding a few new tracks for a "remake" of sorts. singer-guitarist Ben Hozie explained:

"It’s something we’ve been wanting to do for years. We thought of it like a director remaking one of their old films, like when Hitchcock remade The Man Who Knew Too Much, or when Yasujirō Ozu re-did The Story of Floating Weeds… When you’re older and better at your craft, you can revisit the same material but do different things with it."

As a preview, the group have shared the new single Tarkovski, a poppy, indie-rock offering that comes with a video directed by Luca Balser. Hozie commented:

"Tarkovski is a pun on the famous Russian director and skiing; I was enamoured by his book Sculpting in Time but found that many of his professed rules and guidelines for filmmaking were broken by his own filmmaking practices. Theory never really gets at what you want and applying theory to the chaotic practice of art making (while still useful and essential) is like skiing down a wild slope."

Additionally, a b-side to the single, Adaptation of the Truth About Marie, is currently streaming exclusively via Bodega's Bandcamp.

Bodega will tour North America this spring, following an appearance at SXSW in March. Head here for details. They'll also appear at London's Wide Awake Festival on May 25, which features headliners King Gizzard and the Wizard Lizard, Young Fathers and Slowdive. Tickets are on sale now.
