Maxïmo Park will celebrate their 20th anniversary with a UK tour next February.
The Newcastle indie-rockers have lined up shows at O2 venues in Glasgow, Manchester, Liverpool, Bournemouth, Bristol, Birmingham, London, Oxford, Cambridge, Nottingham, Leeds and Newcastle between February 6 and 21.
The shows will see them play their debut album, 2005's 'A Certain Trigger', in full and their greatest hits. Support will come from special guest Art Brut. Tickets go on general sale at 10am on August 29.
As part of their 20-year celebrations, the band will reissue the Mercury Prize-nominated record on October 31 on various formats; single LP, double gatefold LP and a three-LP collection. The re-release will feature what they've called 'Missing Songs', such as A19, Isolation, and My Life in Reverse, as well as a b-sides and rarities CD including Wasteland, Limassol (First Avenue demo), The Coast Is Always Changing (Dilston Road demo), and Kiss You Better (BBC Radio 2 Janice Long session), among many others.
"Not many bands make it to a twentieth year together so we’re having a big celebration, with a special 20th anniversary tour and by giving a fresh perspective to A Certain Trigger," said lead singer Paul Smith. "Our first album remains dear to so many people, and compiling archive material for the reissue has been like entering a time machine - thrilling, but also a bit scary!
"Happily, we think the music has more than stood the test of time, and the tour, where we'll revisit many of the beloved older songs, will be a joyful experience for both us and our audience. Playing live has always been at the heart of what we do, and we still feel the same exhilaration stepping onto the stage as we did in the beginning, but now with even more appreciation of the moment, and the roar of the crowds."
Maxïmo Park released their latest album, 'Stream Of Life', in 2024.
