The Last Dinner Party have shared a third track from their upcoming sophomore album.
Written by guitarist Emily Roberts, Second Best channels Sparks-inspired jagged pop riffs while delving into the emotional cycle of loving someone who keeps betraying you, even though you know it'll happen again. Roberts explained:
"I wish I could go back and say to myself that I am worth more than that, and that no one needs to accept being second best. I hope that the song captures the pain, anger and despair I felt but most importantly the defiance and satisfaction I now have in being able to immortalise this person in a song and to look back on the situation with more maturity."
The two-time BRIT Award-winning band previously teased 'From The Pyre', set for release on October 17, with the tracks The Scythe and This Is The Killer Speaking.
They'll celebrate its release with a series of sold-out outstore dates between October 15 and 23, followed by an extensive headline tour that'll cover the UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, starting this autumn and running through to next spring.
Due to demand, the London five-piece recently added new shows in Glasgow on November 18, Sheffield on November 21 and Norwich on November 25. Tickets for the new gigs go on general sale at 9am on Friday (October 3). All other dates are on sale.
