WILLOW Releases Seventh Studio Album 'petal rock black'

Tuesday, 17 February 2026 Written by Jon Stickler

WILLOW has released her seventh studio album.

Released via Three Six Zero, 'petal rock black' follows up 2024's 'Empathogen' and its deluxe edition, 'Ceremonial Contrafact', which dropped later that year.

Written and produced by WILLOW, 'petal rock black' boasts collaborations with George Clinton, Kamasi Washington, and Tune-Yards, and is described by the Los Angeles artist as, "a personal offering that honours the labour of creation: of self, of sound, of community. It’s a celebration of life, of artistic dedication, and of all those who use their hands to shift culture toward something more beautiful."

Teasing the project a week ago with a video posted to Instagram, she revealed that she plays guitar, piano, and drums on the record and that it took over 18 months of studio work to complete.
