Skye Newman has released a new single, Woman I Am.
Pairing the South London artist's confident, self-assured songwriting style with minimal R&B-leaning production, the soulful track arrives with a video directed by Connie Swift, filmed across the UK on the weekend of this year's International Women's Day (March 8). Newman said:
"Woman I Am to me is about how the women in my life have contributed parts of themselves to build me. My ladies have been my lifeline and held me down when I’ve needed it most… I wouldn’t be where I am today without them and I wouldn’t be the person I am! They crafted, moulded and held me through every step of life."
The song's title also serves as the inspiration for the BBC Radio 1 Sound of 2026 winner, two-time BRIT nominee and MOBO Award nominee's current UK and European tour, which kicked off last Friday (April 11) in Liverpool and continues with two dates at London's O2 Forum Kentish Town on April 14 and 15. She'll also play Glasgow's TRNSMT festival and Reading and Leeds this summer.
In addition to new music, Neman has revealed that part two of her debut project 'SE9' will arrive on May 29, following part one, which dropped last October. It'll include her February single, Walk.
