ZAYN has cancelled the majority of his upcoming KONNAKOL Tour dates across the United States and Europe.
The former One Direction member's shows in the UK next week are among the cancelled shows, with his performance at Manchester's AO Arena moved from May 12 to May 24, following his date at London's O2 Arena on May 23, which remains unchanged. ZAYN confirmed the cancellations in a message shared with fans via social media that also revealed he had recently been in hospital.
"Thank you so much for all the support and love you’ve shown me on the album release and more importantly your love, prayers, and well wishes for my health," ZAYN said. "I’ve felt it, and it’s meant the world. I’ve been at home recovering and I’m doing well and will be better and stronger than before.
“I’ve had to take another look at my schedule for the months ahead and have to reduce the number of shows on the KONNAKOL Tour. I want to make sure I still get out and see as many of you as I possibly can. I’m really looking forward to playing these shows for you, and I hope to see the rest of you around the world very soon."
Next month, his shows in Mexico will go ahead as planned, but his US dates in July, August, September and November have been axed. He's currently still set to perform in South America in October.
The tour takes its name from ZAYN's fifth album, 'KONNAKOL', released in April via Mercury Records/Island Records UK.
All tickets remain valid for the rescheduled Manchester date, while tickets for other shows will be automatically refunded if bought via Ticketmaster. Those who bought tickets through resale sites such as StubHub, SeatGeek or Vivid Seats are advised to contact their point of purchase.
