Kool and The Gang will headline a special London concert next spring, celebrating the 10th anniversary of Soultown Festival.
Led by the only surviving founding member, bassist Robert "Kool" Bell, the Grammy-winning funk and soul group will take the stage at the O2 Arena on April 10, with support coming from the Earth Wind & Fire Experience by Al McKay, as well as Sister Sledge, Shalamar, Kenny Thomas, Boney M, Odyssey, Heatwave, The Drifters and The Real Thing. Tickets go on general sale at 10am on July 3.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees released their most recent studio album, and 34th overall, ’People Just Wanna Have Fun’, in 2023, featuring some of the last work from founding members Ronald "Khalis" Bell, Dennis "D.T." Thomas and George "Funky" Brown.
Last year, the legendary group put out ’Kool Summer’, a remix EP featuring reimagined versions of some of their most popular tracks, followed by a compilation titled ’The Best Ballads’ this March.
Soultown Festival is an annual UK music festival dedicated to soul, Motown, funk, disco and R&B that takes place in South London. The event will return to Croydon Road Recreation Ground in September this year, featuring performances from The Commodores, Wet Wet Wet, The Spinner, Sugarhill Gang and more. Tickets are on sale now.
