Rodrigo Y Gabriela Announce New Album 'OurHome' And Accompanying UK And Ireland Tour Dates For 2027

Rodrigo y Gabriela have announced their seventh album.
The Grammy-winning Mexican acoustic guitar duo, Rodrigo Sánchez and Gabriela Quintero, will release 'OurHome' through ATO Records on September 18. Recorded at NK Sound Tokyo and self-produced by the pair, the album began at a difficult time after months of trying to find inspiration, with things changing after the death of their beloved studio cat, Pelusa. Quintero explained:
"Before her passing, we were searching for ideas in a way that felt very pressured and forced. Then the day after she died, Rod wrote a song for Pelusa and suddenly everything started to flow. It was like she was telling us, ‘Stop fucking around and just do what you do best’ - which meant playing from our hearts with no agenda."
The record's title came during a walk through Melbourne following their tour of Japan and Australia, when the pair passed a public housing tower with a large sign reading “OUR HOME”. Sánchez took a photo of it at the time, and it now appears on the album cover.
"At the end of the tour, we were talking about what home means," says Quintero. "It's easy to spend your time trying to please other people so you feel accepted, but for us, home means being at peace with yourself. Then we walked past this building with a huge sign saying ‘OUR HOME’. It felt like a sign that we were heading in the right direction."
That idea runs throughout the album, which is both a tribute to Japan and a reflection on finding peace wherever you are.
Alongside the announcement, Rodrigo y Gabriela have shared the first single, Monster, an instrumental that blends soaring melodies, intricate acoustic guitar work and intense rhythms. Head below to view the track's video, created by iconic manga artist Naoki Urasawa.
Quintero said: "Monster is such a deep, philosophical story - it’s about a psychopathic killer, but it’s so uplifting and leaves you with a real sense of hope. We’d written that track without knowing that Urasawa was a fan of ours, and now he’s made the video for us."
Rodrigo y Gabriela will celebrate 'OurHome' with a North American tour beginning on September 30 in Dallas and including performances at Austin City Limits festival, followed by a European leg in spring 2026. The latter includes UK and Ireland shows in Dublin, Belfast, Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham and London between March 15 and 21, with tickets for those dates going on general sale at 10am on Friday (June 12).
The duo played London's Royal Festival Hall in May as part of a tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of their self-titled debut album, which also included shows across Ireland, Europe and the United States. They released their latest album, 'In Between Thoughts...A New World', in 2023.
