Shania Twain has shared the title track of her upcoming album, 'Little Miss Twain'.
The emotional ode to her mother looks back at the five-time Grammy-winner's early life in Canada and continues the album's theme of returning to her roots, telling a story about the hopes and dreams her mother had for her as a child, before she tragically died in a car accident in 1987. It also features additional vocals from country star Tanya Tucker, one of Twain's early musical heroes. Twain explained:
"Little Miss Twain is very autobiographical. It explains my childhood and my experience as a young artist, but also how important Tanya’s music is in my life. I was reflecting on the naivete of becoming the next Tanya Tucker — no one in the music industry was going to see me and think that, but my mother was sure that somehow along the way it was going to happen. I often wonder what she would have thought if she could’ve seen what’s happened in my life."
The singer-songwriter announced the follow-up to 2023's 'Queen Of Me' last month, confirming its July 24 release via Republic Records and sharing its first single, Dirty Rosie.
Twain is currently supporting Harry Styles at his 12-date residency at London's Wembley Stadium, which contiines with the seventh performance tonight (June 26). She'll also headline a huge one-off concert at Limerick's Thomond Park Stadium in Ireland on July 7. Tickets are on sale now.
