Avatar Announce 'Feathers And Flesh' 10th Anniversary Show At London's Royal Albert Hall

Avatar have announced a special London show for spring 2027.

The Swedish alt-metallers will celebrate the 10th anniversary of their landmark concept album 'Feathers And Flesh' with a one-night-only performance at the Royal Albert Hall on March 30. They will perform the album in full alongside orchestral arrangements, dancers and a live choir. Tickets go on general sale at 10am on Wednesday (July 8). Vocalist Johannes Eckerström explained:

"Feathers & Flesh changed the entire trajectory of how we work. Once you’ve started to think of the big picture in your work, you can’t put that genie back in the bottle. We’ve done all kinds of albums since then, and we will continue to do whatever the muses tell us to do. The thing they have in common, whether they’re comedy concept albums or satanic sock hops, is that we view them as paintings. They are cohesive pieces of work with a point."

Reflecting on the recording process for the album, drummer and founding member John Allfreddson shared: "I end up in a rollercoaster ride, emotions run through every bone of my body. Half my mind ends up in another time and life in Dresden with this crazy lady laughing, painting owls, playing with microphones and water, hysterically and joyfully clapping her hands. The other half is in this dreamlike forest that only exists in my own mind… I ask myself, did we really create this?"

The announcement follows the release of Avatar's latest studio album, 2025's 'Don't Go In The Forest', as well as summer dates supporting Metallica on the European leg of the M72 World Tour and international headline shows on their Don't Go In The Forest 2025-2027 Tour, which heads to Australia and New Zealand in August, followed by UK and Europe dates this November and December. Tickets for those dates are on sale now.

Last month, they released a standalone single titled Crying Fire, written during the sessions for 'Don't Go In The Forest'.
