Muse have revealed the cover art for the forthcoming new album.

The eagerly-awaited follow-up to 2003's 'Absolution', 'Black Holes & Revelations' is released on July 3rd, and we can now bring you the artwork for the album.

The cover features four men sat around a table, with different coloured toy horses, in a location which appears to be a canyon, possibly the Grand Canyon in Arizona. The location of the photoshoot is surely meant to signify another planet, probably Mars, and may have been used from the videoshoot for 'Knights of Cydonia', which is being released as a single in the USA.

The artwork is a creation of Storm Thorgerson, who has also worked on the artwork for 'Supermassive Black Hole', and the bands previous album 'Absolution'.

One Muse fan has given their own interpretation of the cover, "The four Horsemen in the Book of Revelation symbolize the evils to come at the end of the world. The figure representing conquest rides a white horse; war, a red horse; famine, a black horse; and plague, a pale horse. They are often called the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse."

Tracklisting for the new album is expected to be announced soon.

Speaking recently about the album, and its new direction for the band, singer Matt Bellamy said "I was going out dancing in clubs around New York. That helped create tracks like 'Supermassive Black Hole'. Franz (Ferdinand) have done it very well, with that dance type beat going on mixed with alternative guitar and I've always wanted to find that."

The new single 'Supermassive Black Hole' is available for official download on June 12th and is released in the shops on June 19th.
