Jack Johnson Announces UK Tour Dates & Tickets

Fans of Jack Johnson will be pleased to hear that the Hawaiian born songwriter and his band have entered the Mango Tree Studio to record their 6th studio album. In addition to the new material, following the album release, Johnson will embark on his first world tour since 2008.

Founder of Bushfire Records and a keen surfer, Johnson is not only known for his songwriting but also for his film making and his dedication to environmental projects and organisations. He has played a major part in the soundtracks for films such as ‘Curious George’, ‘A Brokedown Melody’ ‘Thicker Than Water’ and ‘September Sessions’.

The singer’s new album, which is yet to be named, will be released worldwide on the week of 31st May and will follow the release of a single in early May. In support of the new album Johnson and band will then embark on their first world tour since 2008, kicking off in Germany, Europe on June 16th.

Consisting of a mix of headline shows in London, Paris, Berlin and Amsterdam the star has also confirmed he will include an appearance at the UK’s Glastonbury Festival later this year, and also a performance at Roskilde Festival in Denmark. Dates for the stateside chapter of the tour should be announced in March with support acts for the shows being revealed over the coming months.

In addition to the annoucement of a world tour and new album, Jack Johnson will share the stage with none other than Zigg Marley at this year’s 6th Kokua Festival on Earth Day weekend, April 23rd and 24th. The festival takes place at the Waikiki Shell in Honolulu and all proceeds from the festival go to the Kokua Hawaii Foundation, a non-profit organisation set-up to support environmental education programs in schools of Hawaii. The organisation was founded by Jack and Kim Johnson.

For those who cant make it to Honolulu for the Kokua Festival, there are only a few months until Jack Johnson hits the road for his world tour starting in June. So not long to wait.

30th O2 Arena, London

2nd Werchter Festival, Belgium
4th Roskilde Festival, Denmark

Tickets for Cardiff Arena are priced at £35.00 and tickets for the London O2 Arena show are £30.00 / £37.50, go on sale Friday 5th February at 9am.
