The View Confirm Intimate First Dates Of 2010 & Tickets

Thursday, 11 February 2010 Written by Jon Stickler

To showcase new material from their forthcoming third album, indie pop bandits The View have announced a short run of special intimate gigs across the UK.

Exploding out of Dundee with some hugely popular indie anthems, The View seemed to be a force to be reckoned with. Their debut album ‘Hats Off To The Buskers’ was a huge success and led to a world tour (apart from the United States) for the group who were maturing with every gig.

Their second album release, critically accalimed ‘Which Bitch?’ in 2009, led to the band having a change of scenery and switching the metropolis of London for Liverpool. A city whose music scene overlapped with the band’s own tastes. Currently living and working across the road from mersey band The Zutons, The View are now in the process of putting the finishing touches to their third album which is due for release later this year.

The band have now announced that they will hit the road for a short tour across the country. Choosing small venues for an intimate setting, The View are out to road test their new album in front of a few lucky fans.

Kicking off on March 1st the tour begins in native Scotland, Glasgow, before heading down to new home Liverpool and then onto Manchester, finishing with a show in Edinburgh on March 5th. Deliberately missing out the bright lights of London and also hometown Dundee, support slots will be taken up by indie newcomers The Cheek.

The View are to play the following dates:

March 2010

1st Stereo, Glasgow
2nd Zanzibar, Liverpool
4th Deaf Institute, Manchester
5th Bongo Club, Edinburgh

Tickets are available to buy from 9am on Friday 12th February.
