Skindred Tease 'You Got This' With New Single This Is The Sound

Skindred have shared another track from their upcoming ninth studio album.
Showcasing the MOBO-winning Newport band's signature hooky, ragga-metal style, with heavy riffs and dancehall rhythms, This Is The Sound arrives with a video filmed and produced by Matt Higgs and Very Metal Art. Frontman Benji Webbe said:
"Skindred’s sound has always been about fearlessly sailing on uncharted waters and using multiple influences to get the melting pot of ideas really smoking. This Is The Sound pulls together evil dance hall vibes with a booming metal grind that hopefully makes you want to bang your head and scream along with the chorus. THIS IS THE SOUND THAT MAKES YOU GO CRAZY!"
It marks the second preview of 'You Got This', produced by Grammy-winner Jay Ruston, and due out on April 17 via Earache Records, following the release of the title track in November.
Skindred have a five-date in-store tour scheduled alongside the record's release, with performances in Kingston, Oxford, Bristol, Sheffield, and Leeds between April 16 and 23.
They'll also support Alter Bridge at the Florida rockers' inaugural Blackbird Festival at Cardiff Castle in June, alongside Bush, Florence Black and Cardinal Black, and appear at Boomtown Fair in Winchester before headlining Radar Festival in Manchester in August. Tickets are on sale now.
'You Got This' follows 2023's 'Smile', which entered the UK Official Albums Charts at number two, marking the trio's biggest chart success to date.
