Their Passionate, wired, raw sound and their very English brand of indie-punk has seen them compared to both The Clash and The Libertines. Fronted by the somewhat hyperactive Johnny Borrell, the band have announced a one-off open-air concert at Sandown Park on July 21st with support from fellow indie band The Airbourne Toxic Event.

After Razorlight’s huge success of debut album ‘Up All Night’ and follow-up self-titled ‘Razorlight’, the band gained a massive following from the popularity of indie anthems such as ‘Golden Touch’, ‘In The Morning’ and ‘America’. More recently the band has had a busy time of things in releasing their fourth album ‘Slipway Fires’. Not to mention having to replace their drummer, touring American, Australia and Europe and returning the to UK for shows at The O2, The Manchester Evening News Arena and, of course, the UK festivals.

In a recent interview with Teletext Johnny Borrell announced that the group were working on a new record and that they were eager to get the new songs out “soon”. Could this perhaps be the showcase of some new material the band have been working on?

Razorlight, with support from The Airbourne Toxic Event, will play Sandown Park on July 21st 2010.
