Andrew Lloyd Webber to Save Abbey Road Studios

Andrew Lloyd Webber has promised to buy the historic Abbey Road Studios at whatever the cost.

Lord Lloyd Webber has swept to save the day and preserve the famous recording studios as struggling record giant EMI have threatened to put them up for sale. A spokesman for the British composer has said “he thinks it is vital the studios are saved for the future of the music industry in the UK”.

Most of the Lord’s musicals have been recorded at Abbey Road, with the spokesman adding “Andrew has probably brought more musicians to record there than anyone else, because it has the capacity to record large orchestral productions”.

The Jesus Christ Superstar creator isn’t the only big name defending the studios. Beatles hero Sir Paul McCartney is ‘desperate’ for them to be saved, whilst Radio 2 DJ Chris Evans has been playing only Abbey Road recorded tracks on his show.

The ginger disc jockey said: “All records lead to Abbey Road. We will have a big pre-weekend push in our innocent but sincere efforts to heighten awareness of the importance of saving Abbey Road as a musical landmark…so come on, gang, today is the day”.
