A-Ha Ending On A High Note With UK Farewell Tour & Tickets

Norwegian pop trio A-Ha have confirmed that they will be performing together for the very last time in the UK on their ‘Farewell Tour’ later this year in November.

The tour will end an exceptional worldwide career spanning 25 years, with over 35 million album sales and 15 top 10 singles in the UK alone. Band members Morten Harket, Magne Furuholmen and Paul Waaktaar-Savory have revealed that they will play their final shows together this year, which coincides with the 25th anniversary of the release of their debut record ‘Hunting High & Low’.

On the back of their huge success of critically acclaimed current album ‘Foot Of The Mountain’, A-Ha have decided to draw a line under things and as a consequence will not release any future albums. The band would like to thank their fans and anyone who has helped on their amazing journey. “We’ve literally lived the ultimate boy’s adventure tale, through a longer, more rewarding career than anyone could hope for. Doing this now will give us a chance to get more involved in other meaningful aspects of life, be it humanitarian work, politics, or whatever else – and of course through new constellations in the field of art and music. We are retiring as a band, not as individuals. Change is always difficult and it is easy to get set in one’s ways. Now it is time to move on.”

The multi million selling trio released 9 studio albums and returned to the UK top 5 recently with the album ‘Foot Of The Mountain’. They have toured the world and earned a Guinness World Record for the largest ever attendance at a paid concert when they played the Maracana Stadium in Rio De Janeiro in 1991. They are in the elite ‘James Bond theme song club’ and also produced that unforgettable groundbreaking part-animated, part real-time video.

The mid 80s were a blur of hysteria and pandemonium for the group who leave behind a musical legacy inspiring new generation artists such as Robbie Williams, Coldplay, Keane, Kanye West and U2. In 2006 the band were recognized for their lasting musical influence and received the ‘Q Inspiration Award’.
