Ian Brown To Play Outdoor Homecoming Gig & Tickets

King monkey and icon of cool for over 20 years, Ian Brown, is set to return to Manchester for a homecoming show in the city this summer.

Ian Brown was born and raised in the city of Manchester and the singer remains hugely popular with its citizens. Touring to widespread acclaim and never forgetting his roots, the legend will return to the city for a very special hometown outdoor show at Platt Fields Park on June 11th.

Having come to terms with the legacy of The Stone Roses, and with his 2009 album ‘My Way’ behind him, the singer is on strong form. Up to 15,000 fans of the former Stone Roses singer will see him perform at the south Manchester venue where Brown will be joined by a diverse range of artists.

Dance collective UNKLE are set to also perform, with Ian Brown of course making an appearance on their album ‘Psyence Fiction’. Also on the bill will be Bad Lieutenant, which features New Order frontman and guitarist Bernard Sumner aswell as several other former members of the dance rock group. The band released a sterling debut album last year which contained more acoustic veined material that went down a treat with fans. Also performing will be Manchester rockers The Whip and Hacienda DJ Mike Pickering.

The show is to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the park.

Ian Brown and special guests will play the following UK date:

June 2010
