Rolling Stones Talk Of Smaller Shows

Legends of British rock The Rolling Stones could be on the road again with a series of shows at more intimate venues.

The Rolling Stones earnt their iconic status on the British R&B circuit. The played tough blues covers in small cramped clubs across the country. Yet these days, for the most of their fans, seeing a Rolling Stones live performance involves stranding with thousands of other ticket holders in a huge stadium.

Now the rock veterans could be set to scale things down. In a response to rumours that the group were about to confirm their first tour in four years, Rolling Stones’ guitarist Keith Richards spoke of how he thinks smaller venues may be the way forward.

Speaking to Rolling Stone magazine the guitarist said, "I don’t know how the rest of them feel about roadwork at the moment. Maybe we’ll search for a different way for the Stones to go back on the road. Maybe not the football stadiums any more. Maybe something different. You can’t go around there in lemon-yellow tights forever.”

In other news concerning the band, The Rolling Stones are making plans to exhume a notorious chapter of their back catalogue. Crafted and recorded in a drug fuelled haze in Southern France, ‘Exile On Main Street’ has become one of the band’s most talked of and celebrated albums. Featuring some glorious unrestrained songwriting, the record is set to be given the expansive treatment later this year.

Continuing, Keith Richards also spoke about the re-issue process and told Rolling Stone that the band were heading into the studio later this year to work on new material.
