Chris Brown Reveals Short Tour Of UK This Summer & Tickets

American R’n’B star Chris Brown has revealed he will be on UK and Ireland soil this summer for a series of dates in mid-June.

At the young age of 16, Chris Brown arrived on the music scene with his critically acclaimed self-titled debut album in November 2005. The album has sold over 2 million copies in the United States alone. Having cited his influences as Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder and Usher, the singer has already performed alongside musical R’n’B icons such as Lionel Ritchie and Smokey Robinson.

Despite still very much a rising star on the R’n’B scene, Brown is hugely musically talented with a perfect vocal range for R’n’B, hip-hop. His tongue-in-cheek lyrics add to his appeal and with the success of his 2007 album ‘Forever’ also being a huge success, Chris Brown’s solo career was going from strength to strength.

In March last year Chris Brown pleaded guilty to the felony assault of his singer girlfriend at-the-time Rihanna, and was sentenced to five years probation and six months of community service.

The incident was a huge set-back for the singer who had been compared to such artists as Usher and Michael Jackson. Having turned himself into Los Angeles Police Department in February 2009, following his arrest the singer released a statement saying "Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired."

Chris Brown will play the following UK dates:

June 2010

10th O2 Academy, Birmingham
11th Apollo, Manchester
13th HMV Apollo Hammersmith, London
15th The Marquee, Cork

Tickets are available from 9.30am on Friday 16th April.
