Bombay Bicycle Club Announce New UK Acoustic Tour & Tickets

NME’s best new band Bombay Bicycle Club have announced that they will be performing a series of summer acoustic gigs across the UK.

Playing a short tour consisting of seven gigs, the band head out on the road to support their forthcoming as-yet-untitled new acoustic album set for release on July 12th.

The jaunt begins in Manchester on the same day as the album release, Bombay Bicycle Club will then visit venues in Bristol and Norwich amongst others, before concluding in London on July 23rd.

Hailing from Crouch End in London, the band was formed not so long ago by a group of school friends. Under-appreciated in school the group took their music onto the London gig circuit and having triumphed in Channel 4’s “Road to V” competition later opened the V Festival in 2006.

Releasing their critically acclaimed debut album ‘I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose’ later that year, the band are now preparing to release a new acoustic record this summer.

In other news, Bombay Bicycle Club won the Best New Band award earlier this year at the 2010 NME Awards. Fighting off competition from the likes of The Big Pink, La Roux and Mumford and Sons. They now join an elite list of previous winners such as MGMT, Arctic Monkeys, Kings of Leon, The Libertines, Coldplay, Muse and The Strokes.

Bombay Bicycle Club will play the following UK dates:

July 2010

12th St Phillips, Salford, Manchester
14th St George’s Hall, Bradford
15th St Paul’s, Birmingham
19th The Sage, Gateshead
20th Norwich Arts Centre, Norwich
21st St George’s Church, Brighton
23rd Union Chapel Islington, London.

Tickets are available from 9am on Friday 30th April.
