Samaris are an Icelandic electronic band from Reykjavík, consisting of vocalist Jófríður Ákadóttir, Áslaug Brún Magnúsdóttir on clarinet, and Þórður Kári Steinþórsson on electronics.
Formed in 2011, the band signed to One Little Indian, released their self-titled debut album in 2013. This was followed with their second album, ‘Silkidrangar’, just a year later. The band released, ‘Silkidrangar Sessions’, in 2015 and are set to release their latest album, 'Black Lights' on June 10. Having performed in the UK at London’s Hoxton Bar & Kitchen in December 2014, Samaris returned for a show at London’s Oslo in May 2015. Samaris have announced a Uk tour for June and play London’s CLF Art Cafe in July in support of their latest release.
