The band rose to fame during the '80s with hits like We're Not Gonna Take It and I Wanna Rock. Known for their flamboyant image, which included androgynous makeup and clothing, the group's classic line-up featured Dee Snider, Jay Jay French, Eddie Ojeda, Mark Mendoza, and A.J. Pero. This line-up recorded the band's first four albums, 1982's 'Under The Blade', 1983's 'You Can't Stop Rock ’n’ Roll', 1984's 'Stay Hungry', which brought mainstream success, and 1985's 'Come Out and Play'. They later released 'Love Is for Suckers' in 1987, but their final albums failed to match earlier success, and the band split in 1988. After sporadic one-off shows in the late '90s and early '00s, the band officially reunited in 2003, releasing 'Still Hungry in 2004 and the festive 'A Twisted Christmas' in 2006. Following drummer Pero's death in 2015, they launched a farewell tour and disbanded again in 2016. In September 2025, they announced yet another reunion. Twister Sister have announced that they'll tour the world in 2026, 55 years after their formation. They'll play multiple European festivals throughout the summer, including Steelhouse Festival in the UK in July.
