Brian Cox is an actor from Dundee, Scotland.

He began acting at age 14, making his stage debut at Dundee Repertory Theatre in the 1960s, going on to land roles with the Royal National Theatre and Royal Shakespeare Company and winning two Laurence Olivier Awards for his work.

Making his breakthrough on the screen for playing Hannibal Lecter in 1986’s Manhunter, followed by acclaimed roles in films and series such as Braveheart (1995), Nuremberg (2000), Coriolanus (2011), Sucession (2018-2023) and Churchill (2017), earning him a host of honours and accolades including an Emmy, a Golden Globe, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, two BAFTAs and was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 2003
