My Passion Announce Lineup Change With New Drummer

My Passion have announced an addition to their current lineup as 21 year old Jamie Nicholls, formerly of alt-rock act Firetone, becomes the latest addition to the My Passion camp.

With the band now having finished the recording of their second album, "Inside the Machine" (due for release later this year), and seeing the band grow, it was time for the live show to take a step up. With the current drummer Jonathan exchanging his drum riser for Synths and guitars whilst continuing his dual vocals with Laurence, Jamie will be taking up drum duty on the upcoming tour and keeping the guys together.

Singer Laurence Rene said, "We have always intended on bringing live synths into our performance, until now we really haven't been able to, with touring non stop from our first release. But with the depth of sound on our new album "inside This Machine" it is the perfect time to expand on what we have done previously and to do these songs justice.

"Jonathan will be moving forward to join us wielding synths, guitars & his voice, plus a host of other electronic toys, he is one of those guys that can pick up anything and play it, and is a key songwriter in the band so has been waiting a long time for this opportunity. It wasn't until we met Jamie and invited him down to the recording of the new album that we knew we would be able to expand into a five piece. It was so important that anyone joining us was as good a friend as they were a drummer and Jamie just slotted right in as bloody brilliant at both. The phone call to ask Jamie about how he'd feel drumming for us came from Jonathan on the morning of April fools day, as you can imagine he thought we were playing cruel and evil joke, but by the afternoon we had him down at the studio!"

Despite the laid back attitudes of the band, they are hardworking as ever and excited as ever.

New recruit Jamie said, "It's hard to control my excitement at joining one of the fastest growing bands in the country! I can't wait to hit the stage as part of My Passion in October - it's going to be AMAZING!"

Fresh from appearing on the sold out a Kerrang! Relentless Tour in Jan/Feb 2010 alongside All Time Low, The Blackout, Young Guns, and a successful tour of the UK and Europe with Kill Hannah, My Passion are set to tour the UK on a headline tour in October. Dates as follows:
