Mark Ronson has announced that ‘The Bike Song’ will be the second single to be released from his eagerly awaited new album ‘Record Collection’.
Teaming up with indie scamp Kyle Falconer of The View, Ronson will be setting bells ringing across the nation come September 20th when this new perky, 1960s strut of ‘The Bike Song’ is released. Layered with laid back vocals courtesy of Falconer, the Scottish rocker gives a relaxed element to the otherwise sprightly tune which rolls along like a lost psychedelic pop classic.
The track was written by Dave McCabe of The Zutons, a chap whose talents has obviously left a lasting impression having written the song ‘Valerie’ which became a smash hit for Mark Ronson and his partner in crime Amy Winehouse after they covered it back in 2007.
In addition to the forthcoming new single, Mark Ronson has also confirmed a nationwide autumn tour to accompany the release of the new album. With the first night of the tour coinciding with the album release date, Ronson and new group The Business Intl will get the jaunt underway in Bristol on September 27th. The tour will then visit Birmingham (28th), London (29th), Glasgow (Oct 1st) and Manchester (2nd) before concluding in Leeds on October 3rd. Tickets are onsale now.
