Paul Smith, the energetic frontman of Maximo Park, is set to release a book of photography titled 'Thinking In Pictures' on the same day he releases his debut solo album 'Margins' on October 11th.
Over the last five years Paul Smith has taken thousands of Polaroids while on tour with his band Maximo Park. “I’ve always been interested in documenting what surrounds me and as a touring musician I’ve had the opportunity to travel the world. It would be easy to allow the days to blur into a whole, but one way to combat this is to create your own map of a day using pictures.”
The book contains seventy-four hand picked images chosen by Smith and will come with a copy of his solo album slotted in the back. The first 1000 copies will come with a signed bookmark. The book will also be for sale at Smith’s live shows.
Smith and his band, which includes Andy Hodson who produced the album on drums, will play an intimate album launch gig at Uncle Albert’s in Middlesborough on 11th October. Tickets are on sale now.
In November they head to Europe for a handful of dates before the UK tour kicks off on November 26th. Smith's debut single 'Our Lady of Lourdes' is released on 1st November on 7” vinyl and download with b-side 'Loop for Becca'. You can have a listen to the debut single below.
