Lady Gaga Joins Yoko Ono Onstage At John Lennon Tribute Gig

Lady Gaga joined Yoko Ono live on stage at Los Angeles’ Orpheum Theatre on Saturday Night. In a celebration for what would have been John Lennon’s 70th birthday, Ono played two special shows with the Plastic Ono Band, performing in L.A. for the first ever time.
Gaga watched the concert along with a handful of celebrities including Sean Lennon, Wu-Tang rapper RZA and Carrie Fisher, before eventually taking to the stage to join the band. The pair dueted on a number of songs, including a rendition of "Hard Times Are Over", where Gaga took to the piano as Ono sang.
The duo also performed the Plastic Ono Band's 'Give Peace A Chance', during which Gaga changed the lyrics, reflecting her recent support for the campaign to overturn the US military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy towards homosexuality among service personnel.
The campaign has caused a lot of controversy for Lady Gaga, who recently arrived at the MTV Video Music Awards wearing a meat dress, advocating that by discriminating against homosexuals, America didn't "get to enjoy the greatest cut of meat my country has to offer". Many critics saw this as a tenuous link and more of a publicity stunt than political statement.
Speaking on Twitter after the event, Gaga declared that: "We are Plastic Ono. I got to sit in as a guest musician tonight, what a legendary band and mother, Yoko."
