Live and Unsigned, the UK’s biggest unsigned music competition for original artists, has just revealed another amazing main prize for its winners. They have just announced a partnership with Australia’s GoConnect, who operate the popular competition Soundcheck, and the prize will contribute towards a world tour across four continents for the Live and Unsigned winner!
Winning acts in Live and Unsigned 2011 will have the chance to play a world tour comprising of a slot at Tour Music Fest in Rome’s Piper Club where artists like David Bowie, the Beatles and Pink Floyd have all performed and a performance at a leading music venue in Dublin. I Rock, Asia’s biggest Rock festival, will be awarding an act with a slot on their main stage and entrants will also have the opportunity to play in the US, and now at The National Theatre in Australia.
Live and Unsigned and Soundcheck have joined forces to further launch new music and unsigned artists across the globe and they’ll be offering their winners a slot at their respective Grand Finals – with the winner of Live and Unsigned set to fly out to Australia and perform at the National Theatre in Melbourne.
Live and Unsigned has grown extensively in the last 18 months with the prize pool now over £100, 000 including the chance to play at the 02 in London and some of the best venues around the UK. Each year the
competition prize pool gets bigger and better as acts take to the stage and battle it out for equipment, festival slots, clothing, studio time and master classes. Other prizes up for grabs include a UK tour with up to 100 dates, a selection of Marshall amps, extensive coverage on MUZU TV and You Tube and a recording contract with Future Music, with up to £50,000 investment!

In recent months, Soundcheck has also been developed into a music entertainment program and is distributed each week on GoConnect’s IPTV network uctv.fm. It’s also distributed on the Sony BRAVIA Internet Video service. As well as participating in the Winning Act Exchange, Live and Unsigned will also be providing their artists’ performance content, and content related to behind the scenes and auditions for
distribution on uctv.fm.
