Lady Gaga has never been known as one to avoid controversy. The singer has been caught up in an unending series of media speculation, publicity stunts and controversial statements since she entered the ring as a major recording artist. However, the singer has today revealed that she isn’t as open as fans might believe. Gaga has recently bought back a set of her own early demo tapes, songs and live videos to avoid them being publically sold.
The New York-born popstar (real name Stefani Joanne Germanotta) purchased six CD’s and a DVD from her first manager Bob Leone. The items were sold for an undisclosed amount in an auction of over 850 celebrity items. The items, some of which were autographed, featured Gaga demos and unreleased songs dating back to 2002. Minimum bids for the recordings were no less than $1,000 per item.
Despite the fact that Leone had never attempted to make copies of the articles or make them public, many have speculated that Gaga feared the new owners of the items would not be so respectful. Peter Siegel, who is in charge of the auction, declared: “She wanted to purchase them. We sent her an offer on behalf of Bob Leone. She countered and we made a deal
The Lady Gaga songs were not the only items that were pulled from the auction, which took place last week: The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) also seized a set of John Lennon's fingerprints. The fingerprints, which were to be sold for at least $100,000, were confiscated and declared to be a missing official government document.NOTE FROM THE EDITOR We don't run any advertising!
