Lady Gaga Announced As The Most Played Artist Of 2010

Lady Gaga has been announced as the most played artist on UK radio over the last year.
In an official statement by UK airplay monitoring body Nielson Music, Gaga is declared to have received over 275,000 plays on British airwaves in the last twelve months. Her single ‘Bad Romance’ was also revealed to be the most popular song this year.
Veteran boyband Take That, who recently joined with ex-bandmember Robbie Williams, took home the award in 2009.
Gaga, has had a phenomenally successful year, after releasing massive hits such as “Telephone”, “Alejandro” and (of course) ‘Bad Romance’. The singer has also won a phenomenal amount of awards this year, claiming two NME Awards, two UK VMA’s, five World Music Awards, eight MTV VMA’s, two Grammy’s, three Brit Awards and two ASCAP awards, amongst others: if it’s gold and has an abbreviation, she’s won it.
Helena Kosinski, international marketing manager for Nielsen Music, said: "Lady Gaga has had phenomenal success during 2010, ratcheting up an enormous number of radio plays in the last year."
Lady Gaga is currently on the European leg of her ‘Monster Ball’ world tour. The singer will play two dates at London’s O2 Arena on December 15th and 16th.
