Former Bled Drummer Joins My Chemical Romance

Drummer Michael Pedicone, formerly a member of Arizona rockers The Bled, has been revealed as the new drummer for My Chemical Romance.

Earlier this year, My Chemical Romance announced that they are parting ways with drummer Bob Bryar, who had played with the band since 2004. Bryar had also previously replaced their first drummer and founding member, Matt Pelissier. Since that point, the band have recorded their most recent album, ‘Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys’ and filmed a video for their new single “Na Na Na”. However, the more astute fans have noticed that there has been no drummer present so far throughout the process.

Things changed this Saturday (October 23rd), when My Chemical Romance launched their World Contamination Tour in London. The New Jersey band unveiled their new completed line-up at London’s Hammersmith Apollo, along with their 'Mad Max'-inspired post-apocalyptic wardrobe.
Immediately after the performance. Pedicone commented on his Twitter account, introducing himself to the band's fans: "So many questions from all ya Killjoys. I am thrilled to be drumming in MCR exclusively and to be a part of the fam. See you all soon!"

Despite Pedicone’s own assurances, A spokesperson from My Chemical Romance's label, Reprise Records, was quick to announce that Pedicone is simply a touring member of the band, rather than a fully-fledged addition.

Still, that hasn't dampened Pedicone's enthusiasm. The drummer has continued tweeting throughout the band’s UK Tour, writing: "I've known these guys for years. Now we get to play music together for a long time to come. Get used to me!"
