Tennessee rock band Kings of Leon are reportedly trying to recruit fans with ‘Physical Deformities’ to appear in their next music video.
The original online appeal was posted on Newyork.craigslist.com, a forum which has a reputation for requests of a more unique nature, but was soon taken down. The band, fronted by Caleb Followill, are said to have been looking for "characters with scars, pockmarked skin, physical abnormalities or deformities" to get involved.
The band sent out a request for fans to appear in a two day shoot which is taking place today (November 19th) and tomorrow in New England. Volunteers would be paid $300 per day for their contribution to the video, and were especially sought-after if they were "unattractive, rough around the edges" or "a little slow".
No statement or confirmation has been made by bandmembers themselves since the post, but it would not be the first time that the Kings of Leon have made a talking point of their videos. The first single from their latest album, ‘Radioactive’, suffered a harsh internet backlash with its soft-focus, worryingly colonial feel.
Meanwhile, Kings of Leon recently announced that they were set to headline next year’s Isle of Wight festival, appearing alongside Foo Fighters, Pulp and Kasabian.
