Katy Perry Uses Twitter To Choose Next Single

American pop star Katy Perry has taken to Twitter to choose her next single. The singer, who has had three Number One releases from her latest album ‘Teenage Dream’ took to the social networking site at the weekend to ask her fans for inspiration.

Perry tweeted: “PEOPLE u are the reason why I'm here, SO what song off of TEENAGE DREAM do u want to blow up NEXT?! Put a # next to the song YOU want!”

The statement sparked a great deal of response from Perry’s (almost) five million followers, and popular responses suggested ‘Last Friday Night’, ‘E.T’ and ‘Circle The Drain’ as front-runners.

Perry later returned to Twitter to acknowledge her fan’s enthusiastic responses, declaring: 'Thanks for all your great suggestions for the next single today! Your voice has been heard! We're on the same page...'

Unfortunately, some fans failed to realise that Katy Perry had already released a fourth single from the album, ‘Peacock’. The song was slammed for its blatant double entendre and musical simplicity, only reaching Number 125 in the UK Singles Chart.

Meanwhile, Perry has revealed that she will be changing her name in the near future. Appearing on the Ellen DeGeneres show last week, the singer declared that she will soon be taking her husband’s name to become Katy Brand. Here’s hoping the British comedienne of the same name doesn’t mind getting sunk down in the Google search listings.

Perry admitted that she is already called Mrs. Brand on occasion,
saying: “Sometimes [I'm called Mrs. Brand] when people try to get my attention, like at an event or something and they want special attention.”

When asked if she had plans to change her name in the near future, Perry continued: “Yes, I am actually. I'm in the process.”
