Green Day To Release Live Album

Punk-rock super group Green day have announced that they will release a new live-show album in 2011.

The DVD is apparently set to be titled ‘Awesome as F*ck’, and is lined up for a March 15th release date. The DVD was filmed on the band’s massive summer 2010 tour, and is one of the band’s most memorable and greatest tours in their long history – leaving it no surprise that they have decided to release it as an album.

Lead singer Billie-Joe Armstrong had already announced before the start of the tour that they would be recording the shows, and hinted that they would be released as the next album after 2009’s hit release ‘21st Century Breakdown’ – his twitter read "We've been recording our live shows since the beginning of tour, possible live album coming”. It will also be there first live album release since 2006 release ‘Bullet in a Bible’.

During the summer expedition the band also played out a new single – ‘Cigarettes and Valentines’ – which may prompt a release, or perhaps an appearance on the new album. You can see their live version of the new single below.
