Singer Amy Winehouse has reportedly earned £1million for playing just one two-hour performance in front of an array of Russian billionaires.
Coming shortly after the Black Eyed Peas were announced to play for Chelsea chairman Roman Abramovic’s New Year’s party, Winehouse sang for an unknown Russian business man in Moscow.
The Rehab singer has been out of the live scene for a long time, but was convinced to play for the Russians, who included Russian Football Association chief Sergei Kapkovym and billionaire businessman Mikhail Prohorov, and played out a two-hour set. In fairness, who could say no to £500,000 an hour?
The 27-year old was even put up in a £1700-a-night hotel, and flown by private jet.
One of the singer’s friends, who was at the exclusive concert, said "It was a fantastic performance. Amy was brilliant and went down very well with the crowd. She has a real following in Russia and no one was disappointed judging by the reaction she got. It was certainly a lot of money for such a short trip, but she is clearly glad to be back on stage. 2011 is going to be a big year for her."
2011 is certainly set to be bigger than 2010 for the her, with reports of a tour of Brazil lined up, she looks ready for a big stage comeback.
