Rihanna To Play Glastonbury Festival 2011?

Rihanna has revealed that she would like to play at this year’s Glastonbury festival in Somerset. The 22-year-old singer hinted that she wants to be included in the 2011 line-up during a recent interview with Q Magazine.

She said: "I'd love to play Glastonbury. I have heard so many things about what happens there. I love rock music. I love Kings of Leon and The Prodigy. You could have nightmares about that guy with the clown face and the weird hair [Keith Flint]. That's a look to scare little kids, right?”

She continued: "But the music is awesome. I like the more traditional rock bands, too: Aerosmith and Bon Jovi. I think I could rock the stage at Glastonbury, no question.”

Rihanna even took the time to reference the festival’s famously bad weather conditions when she said: “I know since Jay-Z played they are open to a lot more R&B, and 'Umbrella' would be the perfect song for that place too."

Fans will have to wait until this spring to see if she has made the grade for Michael Eavis’ famous festival, which takes place in June this year. Although no acts have been confirmed so far, bookies favourites for this year’s event include Prince, Coldplay and U2, who were forced to pull out of the 2010 festival due to lead singer Bono suffering a back injury.
