Wishy have laid out plans for their sophomore album.
The follow-up to their 2024 debut 'Triple Seven' and last year's 'Planet Popstar' EP is titled 'Nature's Pill' and will arrive on October 2 via Winspear. It finds the Indianapolis indie band reuniting with co-producer Ben Lumsdaine and recording in a small studio in Los Angeles, where they cut half the songs live, capturing their energy fresh off tour. Songwriter Kevin Krauter said:
“Being in an indie band feels bizarre when the world is on fire. What can you do at the end of the day other than carve out some space—at the very least I have my imagination and I can invite others to join me there. At a certain point you need to say fuck it and roll with it."
Alongside the announcement, the five-piece have shared the record's lead single, Lovesick, a dreamy offering sung by Nina Pitchkites that leans hard into '80s alt-rock, drawing on influeces from The Cure and The Sundays.
Pitchkites said: "There’s not much more that needs to be said about yearning in 2026, but here it is anyway. Kevin and I are stupidly romantic people who like twee pop so that combination alone was a recipe for a cheeky ‘main character’ song. We really leaned into the overzealous lyrics here because 1) we’re allowed, 2) can do whatever we want and 3) it’s fun :) yay!"
Wishy will tour the US with The Beths and Beach Bunny in July and August, followed by a Cincinnati show with Ratboys and an appearance at Balaclava Festival in Sao Paolo, Brazil in September, and a run of headline shows in the fall. Head here for details. Tickets are on sale now.
