Win Exclusive Jimi Hendrix DVD & Special Edition Classic Rock Magazine

September 17th 2010 marked 40 years since the passing of rock’s most influential and iconic electric guitarist – Jimi Hendrix. In many ways he wrote the book on the electric guitar, leaving behind an encyclopedia of sounds, riffs and styles that guitarists have been mimicking ever since.

Image'The Classic Artists Series' would not have a complete series on Rock legends and their mark on the world of music without making this film, the final word, on guitar virtuoso Jimi Hendrix. 'The Classic Artists Series' is lavishly supported with original music and live performance footage - beginning in the 60s with the incomparable band Cream, followed by The Moody Blues, Yes, Jethro Tull and now Jimi Hendrix.

Rather than drudging up scandal and outworn hypothesis about his lifestyle and ultimate death, the Classic Artists DVD looks at Hendrix the master of electric guitar, as told by a selection of the world’s greatest musicians in all new and exclusive interviews to Classic Artists: included are Dave Mason/Traffic, Eric Clapton, Mick Taylor/ The Rolling Stones, Eric Burdon/The Animals, Paul Rodgers/Bad Company, Ginger Baker/Cream, Bev Bevan/ELO, Stephen Stills of Crosby, Stills and Nash, Mickey Dolenz, Chris Squire/YES, Lemmy, Joey Covington/ Jefferson Airplane, John Mayall, Zoot Money, there are also contributions from figures as important as Leon Hendrix (Jimi’s brother), Jim Marshall, Dolores Hendrix (Jimi’s aunt), Harvey Goldsmith, photographer Henry Diltz, author Charles Cross and Kathy Etchingham (Jimi’s ex girlfriend)….

Some of these were his mentors, some were his contemporaries and all admired his incredible talent and many emerged as new talent as a result of his influence. They are all here to explain why Hendrix’s work remains at the zenith of rock music to this day.
