James Taylor Announces Manchester Date & Tickets

James Taylor, one of those rare multi-talented individuals, a singer, songwriter and instrumentalist that combines an amazing voice, has announced a show at Manchester's MEN Arena for July 2011. A show at London's O2 Arena is expected to be announced soon.

With the ability to put words together that mold into poignant songs that touch souls, James Taylor's music-writing career, which started in the mid-60s, mirrors our lives and times and reflects his passion for music that has had a profound influence on songwriters and music lovers of all generations.

One of the most celebrated and respected singer-songwirters in the world, James Taylor achieved his breakthrough in 1970 with the song 'Fire and Rain'. Despite a quieter spell during the 80s and early 90s, Taylor' has played to massive audiences throughout the years. He was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame in 2000 and has recently experienced a big resurgence during the late 1990s and 2000s, when some of his best-selling and most-awarded albums, including 'Hourglass', 'October Road' and 'Covers', were released.

In March 2010 he commenced the 'Troubadour Reunion Tour' with Carole King and members of his original band, including Russ Kunkel, Leland Sklar, and Danny Kortchmar. They played shows in Australia, New Zealand, Japan and North America, with the final night being at the Honda Center, in Anaheim, California. The tour was a major commercial success, and in some locations found Taylor playing arenas instead of his usual theaters or amphitheaters. Ticket sales amounted to over 700,000 and the tour grossed over 59 million dollars. It was one of the most successful tours of the year.

Tue 12th July 2011 – O2 Arena, Dublin

Tickets For James Taylor's 2011 Manchester Show are onsale from 9am on Friday 28th January, priced from £50.

Tickets For James Taylor's Dublin Show are already onsale and O2 Arena London show is expected to be revealed in the next few days.
