Sparkadia Announces New Single and Live Shows

Sparkadia, the solo project of Australian-born Alex Burnett, has announced details of a new single entitled ‘Mary’, which will be released on 14th February. He has also confirmed details of a number of live dates, including one supporting solo artist Alex Winston at her NME Awards Show on 21st February at New Players Theatre in London.

London-based alternative pop act Sparkadia were founded in Sydney in 2004 by singer and guitarist Burnett and drummer Dave Hall. Prior to the 2008 release of their debut album ‘Postcards’, the group expanded to become a four-piece. ‘Postcards’ proved to be a success in the band’s home country and its singles ‘Animals’ and ‘Too Much to Do’ both received heavy rotation in the UK.

In 2009, Burnett parted ways with the other members of Sparkadia and was left to work on a second album as a solo project.

In addition to the show with Alex Winston, Sparkadia will play a number of headlining gigs including a ‘Mary’ single launch at Hoxton Square Bar in London on 16th February.
