Jessie J Unveils New Video For ‘Price Tag’

Sunday, 30 January 2011 Written by James Conlon

Chances are that you’ve heard of recent pop sensation Jessie J: She’s worked with the likes of B.O.B. and Devlin, won the BBC Sound of 2011 award and been awarded a little thing called a BRIT award with only one single under her belt. After being crowned the hottest thing in pop music, the singer yesterday unveiled the video for her second single, ‘Price Tag’.

The video is a pastel-shaded vision into childhood, featuring a giant teddy bear, ballerina music boxes and Jessie J herself as part of a team of puppets. It also features rapper B.O.B, who has lent his vocals to the official single version of the song.

Speaking on the themes of the video, director Emil Nava said: “Just basically sort of came up with the idea thinking about showing things that are larger than life, but don’t really matter. It’s sort of like this hyper-real, sort of toy world with Jessie bringing a fashion edge to it.”

Fans of Jessie J’s ‘Do It Like A Dude’ (which reached Number Two in the charts late last year) will be pleased to see that the singer’s lip ‘bling’ appears to have become a recurring feature.

The song will be the first track on Jessie J’s debut album, ‘Who You Are’ which is scheduled for release in March this year. You can watch the video for ‘Price Tag’ below:
