Electronic indie-rockers Metronomy have announced details of their forthcoming third album ‘The English Riviera’, which will be released on 11th April. The album will be preceded by a single ‘The Look’ on 4th April, which follows recent release ‘She Wants’. Both tracks are taken from the album.
The Devon-based group, who have just finished a tour of the UK in January, recently announced another string of dates for April, including a headlining performance at London’s O2 Shepherds Bush Empire.
‘The English Riviera’ – a title inspired by part of the South Devon coastline near to frontman Joseph Mount’s hometown of Totnes – is the follow-up to Metronomy’s second album ‘Nights Out’, which was released in 2008. In the few years that have passed since then, the band have expanded to become a four-piece, with the addition of Lightspeed Champion’s former drummer Anna Prior.
Mount originally founded Metronomy as a solo-project in 1999 and went on to release debut album ‘Pip Paine (Pay the Ł5000 You Owe)’ in 2006. He has previously produced and remixed music for the likes of Roots Manuva, Kate Nash, The Klaxons and Franz Ferdinand and recently wrote some songs with Nicola Roberts, the latest member of Girls Aloud to pursue a solo career.
