The Japanese Popstars Reveal New Video and Single

Electronic producers and DJs The Japanese Popstars have announced that they will release a brand new single on April 4th, which features Irish singer-songwriter Lisa Hannigan.

Entitled ‘Song for Lisa’, the tune also has a new music video to come with it, which can be seen below. The track is described as a ‘glacial’ house anthem and will be released through Virgin Recordings.

‘Song for Lisa’ features on the group’s forthcoming studio album ‘Controlling Your Allegiance’, and is their third studio album since their debut back in 2006.

Consisting of Gary Curran, Declan ‘Decky Hedrock’ McLaughlin and Gareth Donoghue, The Japanese Popstars actually hail from Derry, and have won ‘Best Live Act’ at the Irish Dance Awards three years running – and have now been nominated for ‘Best Live Act’ by DJ Mag.

The video for the new single, directed by James Thraves (who also directed Radiohead’s video ‘Just’ and Coldplay’s ‘The Scientist’), can be seen embedded below.
