The Wanted Set To Release Comic Relief Song

English boy band The Wanted have been announced as the act to perform this year’s official Comic Relief single. The young singers will release ‘Gold Forever’ digitally on March 13th, with the single being made available for physical purchase the following day.

Speaking about the single, singer Max George said: "This song is about a day in your life that you never forget. It's an upbeat, feel-good track and our favourite so far. We're really excited to get it out there, and delighted that it is supporting such a great cause."

Jay McGuiness continued: "We're in a position where we can contribute to Comic Relief. We grew up watching it as kids and to be involved is crazy but an absolute honour. We hope we do everyone proud."

The Wanted will join the likes of Boyzone, Westlife, McFly, The Saturdays and Spice Girls, who have all released a charity single for Comic Relief in the past. The band are also set to perform the song on BBC One during the Red Nose Day programme ‘Comic Relief: Funny For Money’ on March 18th.

The song was premiered on British radio this morning. You can listen to the radio version of the track below:
